Our Paver Sanding Process

The sand between pavers plays a functional role as well as an aesthetic one. When sealed with a joint-stabilizing sealer, the sand keeps your pavers in place. This practice helps mitigate weed growth and will prevent moisture from seeping in and underneath the pavers.

We prefer to use silica-based sand due to our subtropical, moisture-rich environment. Silica-based sand is free of nutrients, which helps to reduce organic growth. Others may use polymeric sand because of its stabilizing properties but we’ve found that polymeric sand is typically the choice for original installs, and regular sand works better for rehab projects due to it’s fine flowing ability to work without a vibrating compactor.

Polymeric sand can cause many problems on rehab projects, especially if its installed in a damp environment improperly, it can leave an unpleasant haze on the pavers and won’t fill paver joints as deeply as it should. With the proper application of commercial grade sealers, the sand will be “flooded” with hardening agents, thus keeping the sand and pavers in place and inhibiting weed growth without the use of polymers added into the joint sand.

Full disclosure: I did not use this service because of scheduling conflicts and because of my absent mindedness.I originally reached out to KC to sand blast old vinyl on a newly acquired box truck. After doing some research their (amazing) sales person, German gave me, I held off on the sand blasting because the process could warp the aluminum.German was more concerned about my best interests rather than closing me on a sale.After scrambling on how to remove this vinyl, I decided a hot water pressure washer cleaning might be the route to take. Reached out to German, again and he quoted me a fair competitive price for the job.Afterwards, Claire followed up with the quote, and Diana ran my card for the deposit for my reservation. Dealing with KC has been an absolute pleasure at this point.Unfortunately, life happens and I need to roll with the punches. The day if my reservation wouldn't work, and I had doubts that the pressure washing might not be the best route to go.So I immediately called to cancel the reservation and to get my deposit back.I spoke with Angel, Diana and Kristen. All three women were so concerned if they dropped the ball or if KC did something wrong for me to cancel my reservation. No, I informed them that they did everything right, it's my doubts, and the cancellation had nothing to do with them, which made me feel horrible cancelling the appointment.This company has amazing employees, if more companies operated like this, the world would be a better place. Unfortunately, that's not the reality, however, I'm certain this company can make the world a cleaner place.If/when I need a blasting or washing service, KC will be the company I will be reaching out to.

We had a very unique job as we needed the interior concrete floor cleaned on a loft that was about to hit the market. The technicians and staff were very knowledgable with the chemicals that would be needed to clean the floor in its entirety and the process on reclaiming the water in an interior space. We contacted several companies but Daniel at KC Power Clean was the first to respond and provided us with enough information and samples to decide to go with them. Kristen was really amazing because she worked with us every step of the way and sympathized with our concerns that our house faces north and our concrete always seemed wet, so we were concerned the staining of the concrete would not work. She was amazing and had Sam, the project manager, come out and look at our situation and assure us that the stain would take on our walkway. The guys that came out the first day were very professional and worked hard to finish. Mark came out the second day to make sure that the staining and cleaning was performed correctly. He had to do some touch up in a few areas and where a kitty had left a few paw prints overnight. He also sealed the concrete that had been stained. I forgot to mention that they also cleaned our roof of green mold and our side wall as well as our driveway. They all did a great job and I highly recommend them. I met with Chris and he told me to send some pictures. After he recieved the pictures he sent me a video explaining the stains on the driveway and what procedures they were going to do to lift the stains out of the driveway. Our clay tile roof looked pretty bad from one of our trees that dropped its leaves and flowers on the roof. Over the years, the roof turned black.I called KC Power Clean and they were able to provide us with a quote over the phone using Google maps to estimate the size of our roof.Christopher came out and did an awesome job on our roof. KC Power Clean utilizes and app so he could take pictures for us to see. We thought it was just one or two areas of the roof that needed to be cleaned, but there were multiple spots. I hired KC Power Clean to sandblast a beam in my living room. Half of the beam had been hidden under a soffit for 40 years while the other half had years of paint and faux finishes on it. The KC technician did a great job including prepping the area to keep it as clean as possible. They even came back a second time because the initial sandblast didn't remove all of the paint in a few places. So after doing some additional sanding on those spots, our KC technician returned to complete the job. The finished beam looks great! We were very happy with their work and customer service.
