About KC Power Clean
KC Power Clean is an owner/operated company. The owner, Kris Cook, started the company with a bucket and a squeegee in the back of his truck. The business of cleaning windows soon grew and so did the vision for the company. He soon realized that people didn't just have a need for clean windows but they also needed clean buildings, sidewalks, gutters, signs etc.
How did KC Power Clean Form?
Many people ask me (Kris Cook), "What made you decide to clean windows?..." So let me tell you how KC Power Clean started.
When I was 20 years old, and at the end of my sophomore year at Biola University, I bought a gallon of paint to clean up a dorm room. When the day was done, I loaded up the remaining half-gallon of white latex paint and went home. Upon arrival, I opened up the rear door of my truck, and out dropped the half gallon of paint; all over the sidewalk. Being young and dumb, I pulled out a hose and washed the paint down into the street! (FYI-don't do this...)
Everything seemed fine until I left and arrived back home to a fleet of two large pressure washing vehicles that were cleaning the paint out of the city's drain. Long-story made short, I was fined $5,600 for improper handling of latex paint. Being a 20 year-old, full-time student-athlete at Biola University, I had no money saved so I was heading home for the summer deeply indebted to my gracious father. Halfway through that summer, I wanted to start making more money because "good-old" dad was still paying me the same $10/hour that he was paying me when I was 14 years old.
By God's grace, my eyes were open to a good opportunity when my father scheduled me and a friend to a residential window cleaning job (my father owns a building maintenance company in Northern Cal). He said that if we did a good job, we could split the check. After working for 4 hours with my friend and meeting a nice family, I realized that cleaning windows was fun and relatively easy with the right amount of experience and the correct tools.
Later that night, I came home and told my father that I was considering starting my own business. Window cleaning was fun and it provided a good work environment for someone who liked to meet new people and work during the day. He wished me luck and KC Power Clean was soon underway.
I'm now proud to say that we have been blessed to be fortunate enough to grow our business even through a difficult economy. Thanks to the hard-work of our employees and such loyal customers, we now not only offer residential window cleaning services but complete exterior property maintenance.
